About Derek Jesko, LPC

Greetings, I’m Derek Jesko, a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master’s of Arts Degree in Clinical Counseling & Marriage and Family Therapy from Hardin-Simmons University.

My expertise lies in Trauma-Exposure/PTSD, Depression, and Interpersonal problems, employing therapeutic frameworks such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems Theory, and Psychodynamic Theory.

In my practice, I foster a collaborative therapeutic alliance aimed at fostering personal insight, leading to a more integrated and autonomous life. Drawing inspiration from Dr. Carl Jung and Dr. Richard Schwartz, my approach prioritizes a strong working relationship to illuminate unconscious processes and unresolved traumas, facilitating healing through conscious awareness.

From our initial session, my goal is to cultivate an open, inquisitive mindset alongside a compassionate and authentic self-awareness. I believe that true empowerment begins with honest questioning and the discovery of one’s potential.

As C. G. Jung aptly said, “Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.” Let’s embark on a journey of self-discovery and empowerment together.
